QR Codes for Events: From Promotion to Feedback

A QR code for an event lets people scan a poster, badge or sign to open the right thing instantly: ticket page, agenda, venue Wi-Fi, map or feedback form. Use one focused code per job, and make the ones that may change dynamic so you can edit them after printing.

Why Choose TryQRMint for This Solution

Custom-branded QR codes, editable dynamic links and clear scan analytics in one dashboard.

Promote Before the Event

Put one code on posters, flyers and social graphics that opens your event page or ticketing link, so interested people can act the moment they see it.

Inform Guests on the Day

Use separate codes for venue Wi-Fi, the agenda, the venue map and speaker contacts, so attendees stop queuing at the help desk with the same questions.

Measure Every Placement

Give each poster location or channel its own dynamic code and compare scans by date, city and device to see which placements actually worked.

Which QR Code Type to Use at Each Stage of Your Event

Most events need several small codes rather than one. This table shows which TryQRMint type fits each job, and whether it can be free.

Printing tips for event QR codes

  • Size the code for the scanning distance: a code read from across a room or on a stage screen needs to be far larger than one on a badge or flyer held in the hand.
  • Keep dark modules on a light background and leave a clear margin around the code. Avoid placing it over busy event artwork.
  • Add a short call to action in the frame, such as "Scan for tickets" or "Scan for Wi-Fi", so people know what they will get.
  • Check venue signal. Dynamic codes need a connection to load, so put the static Wi-Fi code near the entrance.

Selling tickets or collecting RSVPs is the main goal? Use the dedicated event ticket QR code generator. For booth leads, see the lead capture QR code generator.

How to Create a QR Code for Your Event

Start generating high-converting QR codes in less than 60 seconds.

1

Pick the Type for the Job

In the Studio, choose Event RSVP for a hosted event page, Website URL for an existing ticket or registration link, or Wi-Fi, PDF, Location, Lead Capture or Feedback for on-site needs.

2

Enter Details & Brand It

Fill in the content, then add your event colors, logo and a frame with a call to action such as "Scan for the agenda". Preview the code before saving.

3

Save, Download & Test

Sign in free to save and download PNG (SVG on Pro, Business or during the trial). Test-scan a printed proof at the real viewing distance before the full print run.

Promotion

Event Promotion Posters & Flyers

Link street posters, flyers and print ads to your event page or ticket store. Use a different dynamic code per neighborhood or channel to see which promotion drove scans.

Conferences

Conference Agenda & Session Rooms

Upload the agenda as a PDF QR code on badges and stage screens. When a session moves rooms, update the file once instead of reprinting signage.

Trade Shows

Trade Show Booth Lead Capture

A Lead Capture QR code on your booth table collects visitor names, emails and interests into a form, so you leave the show with a list instead of business cards.

Venues

Venue Wi-Fi & Directions

A static Wi-Fi code joins guests to the network without typing a password, and a Location code opens the venue or parking entrance in their maps app.

Networking

Speaker & Networking Contacts

Put a vCard profile code on speaker slides or name badges so attendees can save contact details in one scan during networking breaks.

Feedback

Post-Event Feedback

Show a Feedback code on the closing slide and exit signs to collect ratings and comments while the event is still fresh in people's minds.

Built for Reliable Scanning

Technical Specifications & Print Standards

Standard QR codes (ISO/IEC 18004) that every modern smartphone camera can read. Print size, contrast and placement still matter, so test before printing.

Error Correction

Automatic: Level M, or Q with a logo

Reed-Solomon error correction is raised automatically when you add a logo, so up to ~25% of the code can be covered and still scan.

Dynamic Links

Editable After Printing

Dynamic codes point to a short TryQRMint link, so you can change the destination later without reprinting.

Export Resolutions

PNG (all plans) + SVG (Pro & Business)

PNG exports start at 512 px; vector SVG scales cleanly for posters, packaging and large signage.

Secure Links

HTTPS Short Links

Dynamic codes open over HTTPS, and links with script-capable schemes are blocked when you save a code.

Scan Telemetry

Scan Analytics for Dynamic Codes

Total and unique scans, country, city, device, OS, browser, referrer and scans over time.

Quiet Zone Standard

Adjustable Margin

Set the white border around your code; keep at least a 4-module quiet zone when placing it on busy designs.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Find immediate answers regarding dynamic QR codes, analytics, formats, and commercial usage.

Decide what scanners should see first. For an event page with date, time, venue, description and an RSVP button, use the Event RSVP type. To send people to an existing Eventbrite, Luma or registration page, use the Website URL type. Then customize the design, sign in free to save, and download the code for print.

Use a few focused codes instead of one that does everything: one for promotion and tickets, a static Wi-Fi code, a PDF agenda, a Location code for the venue and a Feedback code at the end. Make the ones you might need to change dynamic so you can update them on the day.

Yes, with dynamic codes. Create one code per placement or channel and name them clearly. Each code's analytics show total and unique scans, scans over time, city, country, device, operating system and browser.

No. TryQRMint does not issue serialized tickets or validate them at entry. Use your ticketing platform for admission scanning, and use TryQRMint codes to promote the event and link to the ticket page.

Static codes such as Website URL and Wi-Fi are free with a free account (up to 10 codes). The Event RSVP, PDF, Lead Capture and Feedback types are dynamic-only: new accounts get a 7-day trial for up to 2 dynamic codes, then they need a Pro or Business plan to keep working.
