2. How to Find and Share Your Personal LINE QR Code

Your personal QR code lets someone add you without searching for your LINE ID:

• Open LINE and go to the Home tab.
• Tap the add-friend icon (a person with a plus sign) at the top.
• Tap QR code. This opens the scanner; tap My QR code to show your own code.
• From the My QR code screen you can save the image, share it to another app or copy your profile link (line.me/ti/p/...).
• If your code was posted somewhere public by mistake, the same screen offers an option to update or refresh it. Old copies then stop working.

3. How to Scan a LINE QR Code

There are two ways to scan, and either works for most LINE codes:

• With LINE: Home > add-friend icon > QR code, then point the camera at the code. The scanner also has an option to read a QR code from a photo in your gallery.
• With your phone camera: point the normal camera at the code and tap the line.me link that appears. It hands off to LINE if the app is installed.
• Scanning a code in a screenshot someone sent you? Use the gallery option in LINE's scanner, because the phone camera cannot scan its own screen.

4. How to Get a LINE Official Account QR Code

For a business, the code to share is your Official Account (LINE公式アカウント) code, not your personal one:

• Sign in to LINE Official Account Manager on the web or in the Official Account app.
• Open the gain-friends section and its friend-adding tools. You will find options to copy your add-friend URL and to download a QR code.
• The URL usually looks like https://line.me/R/ti/p/@youraccount or a short https://lin.ee/... link. This is your 'LINE @' style address built from your basic ID.
• LINE's own QR image works fine. If you need it in brand colors, with a logo and a frame like 'Add us on LINE', paste the same URL into the LINE QR code generator.

5. How to Get a LINE OpenChat QR Code

OpenChat rooms (オープンチャット) let people join with a nickname instead of their main profile:

• Open the OpenChat room in the LINE app.
• Open the room menu (top right) and choose the share or invite option. You can copy the link (line.me/ti/g2/...) or share a QR code.
• If the room requires approval or a join code, mention it next to any printed QR code.
• If the host resets the invite link, all older QR codes for the room stop working. A dynamic QR code lets you paste the new link without reprinting.

7. LINE QR Code Not Working? Troubleshooting

When a LINE QR code fails, check these causes in order:

• 'This QR code is invalid' or nothing happens: the code was refreshed (personal) or the invite link was reset (OpenChat). Ask for the current code.
• Opens a web page instead of LINE: LINE is not installed, or the browser did not hand off to the app. Tap the open-in-LINE button on the page.
• Scans but cannot add: the owner's privacy settings block adding by QR or ID, or the OpenChat room is full or approval-only.
• Someone made a link like line.me/yourname: that format does not exist. Always copy the real link from LINE or Official Account Manager.
